Using the Embed Video Section in Trips

Are you interested in bringing your proposal to life with dynamic video content? This article will guide you through the easy steps on how to use the Embed video section.

What is the Embed Video Section? 

Ankor’s Embed Video section allows you to put dynamic video content anywhere within your proposals, giving your charterers a new level of engagement with the experience you’re presenting. Which videos you choose to include are completely up to you; this guide will take you through a step-by-step guide on how to easily equip your proposals with video content.

💡 Tip: You can use the Embed Video section to showcase a yacht, such as in this example proposal.

Compatible Video Platforms 

Ankor’s Embed video section is currently compatible with YouTube and Vimeo.  

YouTube 

To embed a video from YouTube, follow these steps: 

  1. Find the video you’d like to use. 
  2. Click the “Share” button. 
  3. Click the “Embed” option. (see Advanced Configuration below for configuration options)
  4. There will be an embed code that starts with “<iframe …". Click the “Copy” button beneath the box of code. 
  5. Navigate to your proposal in Trips. 
  6. Find where you’d like to insert your video between 2 existing sections in your proposal and click the blue “Add Section” button. 
  7. Find and select the “Embed Video” section from the ”Add new section” panel. 
  8. Once the “Embed Video” section has been added to the proposal, the edit panel will appear prompting you to insert the embed code you copied earlier. 
  9. Paste the embed code you copied earlier into the open field in the Embed Video side panel. 
  10. Click “Submit”. 
  11. VoilĂ ! Your YouTube video will be immediately embedded in your proposal. 

Vimeo 

To embed a video from Vimeo, follow these steps: 

  1. Find the video you’d like to use. 
  2. Click the “Share” button. (see Advanced Configuration below for configuration options)
  3. In this Share popup, you’ll see the Embed code. To the top-right of this code, click the “+ Show options” button. 
  4. Under the heading “Special Stuff”, ensure the checkbox labelled “Show text link underneath this video” in not ticked. 
  5. There will be a embed code that starts with “<iframe …" under the Embed heading. Clicking on this embed code will highlight all the code, then right-click and Copy. 
  6. Navigate to your proposal in Trips. 
  7. Find where you’d like to insert your video between 2 existing sections in your proposal and click the blue “Add Section” button.  
  8. Find and select the “Embed Video” section from the ”Add new section” panel. 
  9. Once the “Embed Video” section has been added to the proposal, the edit panel will appear prompting you to insert the embed code you copied earlier.  
  10. Paste the embed code you copied earlier into the open field in the Embed Video side panel. 
  11. Click “Submit”. 
  12. VoilĂ ! Your Vimeo video will be immediately embedded in your proposal. 

Advanced Configuration 

Ankor’s Embed Video section is not only easy to use but incredibly powerful. In addition, YouTube and Vimeo offer you options to configure your videos before you embed them into your proposal. Below are a few tips and tricks to use these simple tools for further customisation. 

YouTube 

At Step 3: 

  • Choose where you’d like the video to start from: 
    • Tick the “Start at” box located beneath the embed code.  
    • Select the time you would like your video to begin playing from. 
  • Hide the player controls of your YouTube video. 
    • Under “Embed Options”, untick the “Show player controls” box.  
    • This will hide the options that usually appear along the bottom of YouTube videos, giving your video a cleaner look within your proposal. 

Be sure to copy the embed code (following from Step 4) after you’ve made these configurations. 

Vimeo 

At Step 2, to the top-right of the embed code area, click “Show options”. 

  • Vimeo offers plenty of options for you to tweak and configure your video. All these options are supported by Ankor’s Embed section, so feel free to tinker as you please. 
  • To see how each configuration will look within your proposal, follow from Step 3 after each configuration.  

Be sure to copy the embed code (following from Step 3) after you’ve made these configurations.
